MAY Fair: Maryland Area Youth Juried Arts & Crafts Festival

Frederick County is an art-rich community enjoyed and supported by many. MAY Fair endeavors to encourage the pursuit of art by students especially during the years when many struggle with their passions. ALL Frederick County students (public, private, and homeschool) in 6th-12th grades are invited to submit their best works to be juried and if selected, are given the opportunity to display and sell their art. There is no cost to enter! MAY Fair takes place at the Griffin Art Center at the corner of 5th and Market Streets in historic downtown Frederick on the first Saturday in May and includes music and live demonstrations by well-known, local artists.

The Griffin Art Center will host the 6th Annual MAY Fair on Saturday, May 6th, 2017, from 3:00-6:00pm at the Griffin Art Center (on the corner of 5th & Market Streets in downtown Frederick). This event coincides with Frederick’s "First Saturday" festivities, so there should be plenty of foot traffic!

A limited number of artists will be accepted. All submitted entries will be juried by a panel of local artists.

"MAY Fair was a wonderful opportunity in that it allowed our daughter to see what it was like to be a real working artist, and how to deal with pricing and sales. A wonderful experience."

"Participating in MAY Fair was a great way for my daughter to showcase all of her artwork.  As people commented on her work and bought things, it gave her confidence a real boost.  We were very thankful for the opportunity."
